PROJECT Green Energy
Improving the energy efficiency in the city of Pernik
This projects deals with the improvement of municipal buildings towards more energy efficiency.
Improving the energy efficiency of the building sector is one of the main focuses of the European Green Deal presented by the EC in 2019 and has a key role in achieving the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. A key component is improving energy efficiency of the building stock and increasing the share of energy from renewable energy sources (RES).
With this project, Pernik Municipality aims to improve the energy efficiency of three municipal buildings. This will reach the norm for buildings who have a zero energy consumption and contributes to achieving the main goals of the program:
- increased production of energy from renewable sources
- improved energy efficiency of the buildings
- increased expert capacity in the field of energy management
The main groups affected by the positive effects of these changes will be children, students, staff, and everyone staying in these buildings daily. This includes over 1000 inhabitants of Pernik Municipality.
Through its experience and technological expertise in EE (Electrical Engineering), IDN will bring added value to the planned activities, with the benefitary’s experts applying the knowledge they gained.
