Strengthening civil society development and increasing contribution to social justice, democracy and sustainable development.

The NGO Fundis part of the implementation of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014. Through the EEA and Norway Grants, the donor countries (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities and to strengthening bilateral relations with 15 EU countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The Programme Operator in Romania is the Civil Society Development Foundation (FDSC) in partnership with the Romanian Environmental Partnership Foundation and the Resource Centre for Roma Communities.

THE PROJECT SCOPE

The purpose of this mobility project is to develop the partnership by creating , strengthening bases for present and future collaborations to identify common concepts and realization of common projects.

The project will lead to the overall objective of the NGO Fund implementation in Romania of “Strengthening civil society development and increasing contribution to social justice , democracy and sustainable development ” through partnerships and programs will cater for jointly by partners ANTFCR and  IDN program that will help general objectives of grants European Economic Area ( EEA ) The project will define common ACTV following topics :

  • Transparency and good governance.
  • Gender – equality .
  • Social inequality , poverty and exclusion.

 

PARTNER DESCRIPTION

The National Association of Christian Young Women of Romania, whose acronym is national YWCA of ROMANIA (Asociatia Nationala a Tinerelor Femei Crestine din Romania (ANTFCR).

The National Association Of Christian Young Women of Romaniais a non-governmental, charitable, non-profit and apolitical organization who started in October 24th 1996 by the work of the Organizing Committee who then create the ANTFCR by the decision of the founders in the General Meeting in May 10th, 1997; it obtained a court ruling no.167/1997 in Targoviste public meeting Court in 7th October 1997. National Association of Young Christian Women in Romania is affiliated since 1999 to the World Young Women’s Christian Association-World YWCA. World YWCA.  Is a global movement of 25 million women and girls working for justice, peace, health, human dignity, freedom and the environment in 125 countries. Also at European level is also a member of Young Women Christian Association. (European Association of Christian young women). In Romania, YWCA is a member of the National Network of of  Women NGOs , of the Regional Pact for Employment and Social Inclusion Bucharest Ilfov.

ANTFCR programmes had the following directions of activities:

  • PROGRAMS ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND SOCIAL INCLUSION
  • HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS
  • EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
  • SOCIAL ASSISTANCE AND HUMANITARIAN  PROGRAMS

 

MOBILITY RESULTS

The mobility take place in BUCHAREST, ROMANIA on April 27 to April 30, 2014. All activities was develop in the  office of the National Young Women  Christian  Association of Romania, Asociatia Nationala a Tinerelor Femei Crestine din Romania (ANTFCR). During the mobility IDN was reprezentated by  Mrs Katarzyna Kazimierczuk Project  Director and  Mrs. Tatjana.Volarev Senior Adviser. The mobility will get the following concrete results:

  • Strengthening bilateral relations through development cooperation, exchanges, increase mutual knowledge and understanding on the concrete realities of Romania and Norway on the following topics: Transparency and good governance, Gender Equality, Social inequality , poverty and exclusion
  • Achieving a sustainable partnership with partners , IDN by mutual knowledge of each partner of the joint areas of activity and the results obtained so far
  • Formalizing the partnership by signing a partnership agreement drafting
  • Develop a plan for disseminating the results of future mobility and projects results of which will be deposited in the round 2 of the NGO Fund
  • Strengthening the capacity of communication between ANTFCR and IDN partner by establishing of means of communication used in the partnership ( by e -mail , telephone or other means of direct communication on the internet, skype massenger , facebook etc)
  • The program will develop a mobile sustainable partnership with both partners  through knowledge of mutual, common areas of activity and results

 

REFERENCE TO THE ONG FUND

The NGO Fund is part of the implementation of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014. The general objective of the NGO Fund is “Strengthening civil society development and increasing contribution to social justice, democracy and sustainable development.”

The Programme Operator in Romania is the Civil Society Development Foundation  in partnership with the Romanian Environmental Partnership Foundation and the Resource Centre for Roma Communities.

The NGO Fund in Romania supports the activities of non-governmental organisations by organising grant schemes under the following 5 Components:

1. ENGAGE, having as sub-components:

1.1. Participation in decision-making and community engagement

1.2. Volunteering

1.3 Encouraging democratic values

2. SOCIAL JUSTICE, having as sub-components:

2.1. Rural interethnic communities development

2.2  Fighting social inequalities, poverty and exclusion

3. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

4. WELFARE AND BASIC SERVICES

5. NGO CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT. NETWORKS AND COALITIONS, having as sub-components:

5.1.Support for coalitions and networks at regional and national level and think tanks

5.2.Support for initiatives that contribute to an enabling environment for NGOs in Romania and strengthen the overall sector representation

5.3. Strengthening membership and volunteer base of organisations and increase participation of members/volunteers in organisation activities

As part of the NGO Fund, Funds for Bilateral Relations  aim to increase cooperation among entities from Romania and respectively donor states, to improve knowledge and mutual understanding and to share results.

Measure a. Partnership building– search for partners for donor partnership projects prior to or during the preparation of a project application, the development of such partnerships and the preparation of an application for a donor partnership project

 

DISCUSSIONS / CONCLUSIONS

The mobility have  achieved his goal to develop the partnership by creating , strengthening bases for present and future collaborations that will lead to improved knowledge and mutual understanding and sharing the results of each participant’s activities and to identify common concepts and realization of project through component 4 4. WELFARE AND BASIC SERVICES
