Closing the water loop for the city busses in Rzeszow.

Municipal Transport Company in Rzeszow is implementing a project aimed at increasing the capabilities of mitigating climate change through the expansion of the bus wash facility and embracing the principles of the circular economy.

Apart from the main investment, the projects also include a wide range of educational activities, promoting a circular economy and sustainable development among young and older inhabitants of Rzeszow. Project outcomes:

  • Increasing the capacity of the wash facility
  • Reducing water and energy consumption and wastewater emissions
  • Achieving a water recycling level of 85%
  • Social education on climate change and the circular economy

Educational Activities:
The project includes an educational campaign to raise awareness among the residents of Rzeszów. These efforts will promote resource conservation and waste reduction, contributing to the mitigation and prevention of climate change. We will work with youth and kids from primary schools to develop innovative solutions promoting the circular economy in small local communities.

Sustainable Investment:
The expansion of the wash facility is an investment in line with sustainable development principles, which, through the use of recycling technology and renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic panels, will significantly reduce the company’s ecological footprint.

Project Sustainability:
The infrastructure will become the property of MPK Rzeszów and will be maintained in proper technical condition throughout the project’s lifetime. The project’s educational materials will be available online and can serve as inspiration for future initiatives.

The project is co-financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 under the “Environment, Energy and Climate Change” program
The maximum total cost of implementing the Project is PLN 3,001,851.01 (in words: three million one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one zlotys, 1/100).
The maximum eligible costs under the Project will amount to PLN 2,4,71,302.72 (in words: two million, four hundred and seventy-one thousand, three hundred and two zlotys, 72/100).
Project funding amounts to approximately 84.99999910978% of eligible costs, of which:
1) from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021 in the amount of PLN 1,785,516.19,
2) from state budget funds in the amount of PLN 315,091.10
