BIOMASA project presents results

On the 30th of November the BIOMASA organization held a professional event focusing on renewable energy, IDN participated with a talk on bilateral cooperation and experiences from Norwegian partners in the BIOPEL project.

On the 30th of November the BIOMASA organization held a professional event focusing on renewable energy, IDN participated with a talk on bilateral cooperation and experiences from Norwegian partners in the BIOPEL project.

The event was held in Kysucky Lieskovec for students of technical universities with an excursion to the wood pellet production and distribution of biofuels. At the same time Cenzualne spolumajitelstvo Rajec presented wood processing, directly from the logging of forests Rajecka valley towards the experts from Norway. The afternoon program all-day event was aimed at the opening of the Biomass Logistic Centre, which was developed by the company BIOPEL. The event was attended by prominent Slovak and Norwegian experts who are involved in the transfer of experience and knowledge in the use of biomass within the Slovak-Norwegian bilateral cooperation.

The Seminar “Use of renewable energy sources, biomass and solar energy” with the subtitle “Sharing experiences in the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Slovak Republic and Norway” was held in the municipal office in Kysucky Lieskovec.

The event was attended by students from technical universities, with which BIOMASA long-term cooperates. Students had the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and experience of experts in biomass processing; the results of bilateral cooperation with Norwegian partners and also be familiar with the scientific activities of all participating universities. The obtained information they can effectively utilize in their studies, or even in their future careers, in that they chose to study just departments dealing with the use of renewable energy sources and technologies to process them.

The representatives of the Government Office, the Norwegian Ambassador in Slovakia Inga Magistad, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in the Kingdom of Norway Frantisek Kasicky and many other distinguished guests and experts from Slovakia and Norway took part in the opening ceremony of the unique logistics center. All present guests highly evaluated the results and outcomes of the project and wished the representatives of BIOMASA and BIOPEL successful operation of the Centre. The event was held with the financial support from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the state budget within bilateral fund, which is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and reduce economic and social disparities between the Slovak Republic and donor countries.
