Animation of a Hackathon cycle

A hackathon called “Norwegian Circular School Challenge – We Close the Circle!” was held at the Sztum Cultural Center on January 23-24, 2024. It was organized as part of the project entitled “Sztum Circular Economy – a response to contemporary climate challenges.” The participants of the two-day meeting were school students, who worked under the supervision of moderators from the Norwegian non-governmental organization Ungt Entreprenørskap. During the workshop, young people were introduced to how the consumption-based economy impacts the environment. In teams they developed ideas for actions that would limit the impact of human activity on environmental losses.

The proposed solutions were presented by workshop participants in the form of presentations. The presentations were assessed by a jury of representatives of the SCE project partners from the Gdańsk University of Technology, International Development Norway, and the Sztum local government. Addressing the workshop participants, the Mayor of the City and Commune of Sztum, Leszek Tabor, declared that the most interesting solutions proposed would become the subject of an analysis by the local government regarding the possibility of introducing and disseminating among residents.
