Next Generations in Pomorie Municipality
"Next Generations in Pomorie Municipality – More Responsible in Resources Use and Involved in Circular Economy Transformation through Educational, Awareness and Promotional-Demonstration Measures" helps to build the capacity of teachers to support sustainability education.
The project titled “Next Generations in Pomorie Municipality – More Responsible in Resources Use and Involved in Circular Economy Transformation through Educational, Awareness and Promotional-Demonstration Measures” involves twelve schools and seven kindergartens in Pomorie, Bulgaria. In partnership with International Development Norway, the project aims to conduct educational campaigns focused on resource management, waste recycling, and the circular economy.
Key activities include:
– Designing educational courses for the national curriculum.
– Demonstrations on waste recycling in schools.
– Pairing with Norwegian schools to learn about their approaches to teaching circular economy concepts.
– Organizing eco-tournaments and competitions among students to engage the community.
The project has developed educational programs across eight thematic areas related to waste management and recycling, tailored for different age groups. A total of 17 awareness campaigns were conducted, targeting both children and the general public. Additionally, 114 waste collection containers were distributed across educational institutions, and training was provided for 23 teachers on best practices in resource management and recycling.
IDN partner contributed with expertise in circular economy and environmental protection, running the capacity building and enhancing the project’s effectiveness and the capacity of Bulgarian teacher.
