Rune has a Master of Science, Political Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He specialized within the fields of international political economy, political risk analysis and foreign direct investment. Further education within the area of Lean Production at NTNU.
He has worked at IDN since 2015 when he came from the position as Project Manager in the Industrial Development Unit in the Municipality of Stjørdal. At IDN he works with SME innovation projects with a special focus on production companies. Since 2017 he has also been in charge of building up the IDN daughter company ICB Digital ( www.icbdigital.no ), focusing on agile and low-cost Industry 4.0 solutions for the manufacturing SMEs. Combining professional experience and further education within Lean Production together with digitalization to assist production companies to meet future demands and opportunities.
Mr Stølan has broad international experience working in innovation projects in many countries together with local companies (project development management and consulting), and he has direct access to numerous institutions and companies both in Norway and Central & Eastern Europe. He has managed and participated in projects within numerous funding schemes; EEA Grants, SkatteFUNN, Innovation Contract, Manunet, Framework Programs and Norad.
