Bente Foereid has a master’s degree in biology from the University of Oslo and a PhD in agroecology from KVL (now Copenhagen University). She has worked in research in Norway and abroad, lately on projects related to circular use of organic residues as fertiliser in agriculture. She is interested in the environmental effects of agriculture, particularly greenhouse gas emissions from soil and the risk of spreading unwanted substances. She has had projects for EEA, EU and the Research Council of Norway on the use of digestates, the organic rest from biogas production, and fish sludge, as residue from aquaculture. She has had collaboration with India, Chile as well as European countries in her projects.
