Meeting in Lusaka with LISWMC and ReachAll on biogas for organic waste management

On January 21.01.2025 IDN representative met with Lusaka Integrated Solid Waste Management Company (LISWMC) and ReachAll to discuss support for household and community biogas systems for organic waste management in Lusaka and Livingstone.

We visited two sites in Lusaka. Zamkanda is currently implementing organic fertiliser production in the area. Trash For Cash has set up a biogas system. Both companies are working to reduce the volume of organic waste reaching the landfill, which extends the facility’s operational lifespan.

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Zambia, and ReachAll also took part in the discussion.
