IDN's work depends on trust — from the communities we operate in, the partners we work alongside, the institutions that fund our projects, and the staff and experts who represent us in the field. That trust is earned through consistent, transparent, and accountable conduct. Our institutional policies are the framework through which we maintain it.
Our governance framework covers six policy areas, each addressing a distinct dimension of responsible organizational conduct:
Policies
Safeguarding
IDN's policies on preventing and responding to sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation — applicable to all staff, partners, and contractors, with mandatory reporting protocols and dedicated focal point oversight.
Gender Equality
Our commitment to gender equality as a substantive organizational practice, not a reporting obligation — covering hiring, project design, partner requirements, and the active monitoring of gender outcomes.
Anti-Corruption & Whistleblowing
IDN's zero-tolerance approach to corruption in all forms, and the confidential channels through which concerns — including potential illegal activity — can be reported safely and without risk of retaliation.
Procurement
The standards for fair, competitive, and compliant procurement of goods and services — protecting the integrity of the process for suppliers, partners, and funding bodies alike.
Financial Management
The procedures and controls that ensure IDN's financial operations are transparent, accurate, and aligned with the requirements of funders, including EEA and Norway Grants.
Ethical Guidelines
The standards of professional integrity that govern how IDN staff and representatives behave in all project and institutional contexts, and the mechanisms for identifying and addressing ethical concerns.
